My Story
Originally from Texas but now residing in Arizona, I’ve dedicated most of my life to the nursing profession, acquiring certifications as both a Family Nurse Practitioner and a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
Intrigued by social media during shutdowns, I found myself unable to visit my usual hair salon for touch-ups, leading me to embrace my natural dark brown hair, peppered with more grey than I had realized. Despite initial self-consciousness, I found solace and encouragement in online communities of women also transitioning away from hair dye. Documenting my journey on social media platforms, I inadvertently delved into the world of beauty trials and tribulations.
An unexpected message from Hilary Swank and Luciano Layne of Alpha Magazine catapulted me into a photo shoot for Mission Statement, Swank’s clothing company. Flying to LA the next day, I embarked on an exhilarating experience, showcasing the vibrancy of life in one’s 50s.
This journey reinforced my belief that age doesn’t define opportunity. Amidst health concerns during the pandemic, I prioritized fitness, incorporating home workouts into my routine. Recognizing the importance of exercise in combating age-related health risks, I shared snippets of my fitness journey on social media, hoping to inspire others.
Becoming a social media influencer wasn’t part of my plan, but it became a fulfilling outlet to share experiences, thoughts, and products I believe in! Through this journey, I’ve forged meaningful connections with women from diverse backgrounds, united by shared experiences and mutual support.
